VOD DUBAI APPRECIATES EFFORTS OF GGAPCP FOR PAKISTANI JEWELLERS

All praise to Allah almighty with whose blessings Gold & Gems Art Promotion Council of Pakistan (GGAPCP) again visited the Dubai International Jewellery Show VOD Dubai 2019, with a powerful delegation, though reduced in number this year, but comprising over heavy weights of the Gems & Jewellery industry from across the country.

The exhibition held from November 13-16 in Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) under the aegis of the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG)’s sister wing VOD. Delegation was led by the GGAPCP President Mr. Muhammad Ahmad and 22 members were taken from across the country with major representation, this year, from Punjab.

New Show Director Mr. Daniele Villa and Mr. Ashish Sakhardande Marketing Manager VOD Dubai welcomed the delegation members at the exhibition and at fashion shows held during the four days event. Members were given full protocol and facilities including free of cost three night stay in one of the lavish hotels of Dubai, Ibis One Central which was at the walking distance from the exhibition.

A souvenir exchange ceremony was also held on second day of the exhibition in which GGAPCP President Mr. Muhammad Ahmad handed over souvenirs to VOD Dubai Show Director, Marketing Manager Ashish Shakardande and others. A symbolic souvenir on behalf of the organization and other members from Sindh was given to the show organizers. Traditional ‘Ajrak’ and Sindhi caps were also presented to the VOD administration and delegation members by the delegates from Sindh.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Daniele appreciated the efforts of the GGAPCP for bringing a delegation of buyers after hectic efforts. He in response to a proposal assured full support to the GGAPCP for enabling it to participate in other events of the IEG held frequently in Italy and other countries of Europe.

While congratulating the hosts, Gold & Gems Art Promotion Council of Pakistan (GGAPCP) Mr. Muhammad Ahmad said that holding such an organized event and that too on large scale is really appreciable and whole VOD Dubai team deserves applauses for this.

He said that our members had shown keen interest in the Jewellery and packaging material presented in the exhibition. ‘This year some of our members did heavy buying and showed keen interest in Indian Jewellery especially the diverse ornaments from Calcutta,’ he added.

He said majority of Pakistani Jewellers are interested in capacity building, so they were either looking for buying machinery or technology transfer which was unfortunately not present in sufficient number at the 2019 exhibition and same was the case in the corresponding year. He proposed that the IEG should provide GGAPCP some support to enable its members participating and visiting those fairs where machinery and technology transfer deals could be done thus upgrading the Pakistani Jewellery sector.
