The FPCCI Regional Standing Committee Gems & Jewellery and the Gold & Gems Art Promotion Council of Pakistan
LAHORE: The FPCCI Regional Standing Committee Gems & Jewellery and the Gold & Gems Art Promotion Council of Pakistan have urged the government to immediately withdraw SRO 760 which they termed is a hindrance in the way of export of gems and jewellery from Pakistan.
Members of both the organization who met with Chairman of the Steering Committee Muhammad Ahmad in the chair also urged the government to redraft the gems and jewellery export policy in consultation with the true representatives of this trade.
The demand was raised with consensus by the representatives of 50 organizations, which were part of the Lahore Division Sarafa and Jewellers Association and came from different parts of the province to attend the first meeting of the FPCCI Regional Standing Committee on Gems and Jewellery.
He claimed the committee would organize exhibitions of Pakistani products domestic and international level. He also hailed the recently held jewellery exhibition by the Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development. The committee members also showed their full confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Ahmad and assured him full confidence.
Jewellers from 50 organisations of Lahore participated in this meeting. While Jewellers from Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Pak Pattan, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat and others also participated and deliberated on different issues being faced by the Gems & Jewellery Industry. They also collectively proposed to hold an international exhibition in Lahore and participating in different international programmes.
